Non-Structural Carbohydrates and Growth Adaptation Strategies of Quercus mongolica Fisch. ex Ledeb. Seedlings under Drought Stress

چکیده

Under drought stress, plants can change their morphology, physiological characteristics, and carbon allocation to maintain survival growth. Non-structural carbohydrates (NSC) are major substrates for plant metabolism play an important role in seedling growth under conditions. Mongolian oak (Quercus mongolica Fisch. ex Ledeb.), a constructive species distributed northeast China, has high tolerance. However, studies on the NSC dynamics of different intensities durations limited. To investigate this, our study measured photosynthetic growth, biomass, concentrations seedlings 0, 15th, 30th, 45th, 60th day experiment three soil moisture conditions [75% ± 5% (CK), 50% (W1), 23% (W2) field capacity (FC)]. Results showed that biomass gradually decreased as decreased, but root: shoot ratio root increased. In W1 treatment (moderate drought), content stems taproots was 7.42% 16.39% higher than those CK at 60 days. W2 (severe significantly during whole period (p < 0.05), they were 14.14% 26.69% We found that, had lower roots. Furthermore, system became vital sink stress beneficial survival.

Ecological comparison of Mongolian oak (Quercus mongolica Fisch. ex Ledeb.) community between Mt. Nam and Mt. Jeombong as a Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) site

Species composition, frequency distribution of diameter classes, species diversity, and stem vitality of woody plants were analyzed in a Mongolian oak (Quercus mongolica Fisch. ex Ledeb.) forests in permanent quadrates of Mt. Nam and Mt. Jeombong, which were installed for Long Term Ecological Research (LTER). The principal objective of this study was to clarify the ecological characteristics of...

Allelochemicals in the Soil beneath Quercus mongolica Fisch var, grosseserrata

The phenomenon that wild grasses did not grow beneath the tree of Quercus mongolica Fisch var. grosseserrata Rehd. Wils. while they grew vigorously beneath other species of trees around Q. mongolica was observed in many places in the Hokkaido district. The allelochemicals in the soil beneath Q. mongolica were studied. This soil inhibited the growth of lettuce (Lactuca scariola L. var. sativa Bi...

Responses of Nutrients and Mobile Carbohydrates in Quercus variabilis Seedlings to Environmental Variations Using In Situ and Ex Situ Experiments

Forest tree species distributed across a wide range of geographical areas are subjected to differential climatic and edaphic conditions and long-term selection, leading to genotypes with morphological and physiological adaptation to the local environment. To test the ability of species to cope with changing environmental conditions, we studied the ecophysiological features of Quercus variabilis...
